JUNE DIAPER DISTRIBUTION IN IRAQ
Our Diapers for Refugees project in Iraq conducted our second distribution of the year this month. This shipment of diapers was delivered to IDP Christians in the Ankawa – Erbil area in northern Iraq. As before, the diapers were distributed in seven different camps to those families with the greatest need.
Pictured at right is distribution at REDACTED center in Ankawa. The several story structure was intended to be a hotel, but construction was stopped as the Islamic State came close to the city in 2014. The shell of the building is now used as a camp for displaced Christians who live on five different floors of the building.
Redacted is one of the locations where our Christmas programs were held for Christian children in 2015. We will once again host Christmas programs at Al-Amal this year.
REDACTED is one of the few locations where there is electrical power, although it is not reliable. During the summer the city is only able to deliver power about 40% of the time. There are now two washing machines at REDACTED, and we had hopes of beginning the use of cloth diapers there but with several hundred residents in the building clean clothing must come first. There is a question as to whether the temporary plumbing installed in the building can handle additional washing machines, and there are other waste problems.
The largest camp, REDACTED, received the largest quantity of diapers. At left is one of the women at REDACTED who just received her supply of diapers for a toddler. We are currently distributing five different sizes. Many women receiving diapers expressed their thanks and said it was a blessing from the Lord to have them.
SUMMER CAMP
The summer camp in Jordan we support has opened for the summer, and the first youngsters have arrived. Just a week before the camp opened the remodeling of the kitchen was finished but there were not sufficient funds for a new refrigerator and freezer. The very same day a supporter of the Religious Freedom Coalition called me and asked if there was a shortfall in funding for the camp this year saying he would fill that need. God has works miracles every day.
The following day I was able to wire our ministry partner in Jordan funds for new refrigerators and a freezer thanks to the generous support. In addition, funds were sent to build a new office using a sea going container, which is done commonly in that area of the world for locations outside of cities. In addition, we were able to pay the expenses for refugee children from Iraq and Syria.
I have been associated with REDACTED for nearly a decade and I have watched it grow in its influence on the Christian youth living in Jordan. I have visited REDACTED a number of times and plan to once again be there in just a few days.
REDACTED is a summer camp on the ridge of the Jordan Valley facing Israel. Like any summer facility of this nature, it needs constant upkeep. Probably some twenty years ago, another organization donated the water system that was made of metal tanks on roofs and piping. By the time I became associated with REDACTED the tanks had rust holes in them with bugs flying in and out. The Religious Freedom Coalition replaced the entire water system.
A year or so later we helped to replace all the mattresses which were more than a decade old and then we replaced the canvas curtains which make up two walls of the sleeping areas for the children. This is a continuing work, but the result is the beginning of a true relationship with Christ for many children and youth who were marginal Christians at best. For all those kids, I thank the many supporters of the Religious Freedom Coalition who have helped so much.
Two paragraphs REDACTED concerning camp location and dates.
CONGRESS MUST ACT ON SYRIAN REFUGEES
Just 2 of 2,037 Syrian Refugees to USA in May Were Christian
President Obama continues to bring in Sunni Muslims: In May, President Obama’s Administration brought 2,037 Syrian refugees to the United States at a cost of millions of dollars to American taxpayers. Of those, only two (2) were Christians. The proportion of Christians among them was minuscule.
The two Christian refugees admitted were just 0.19 percent of the total. Christians officially make up ten percent of the population of Syria. That percentage does not include the hundreds of thousands of Iraqi Christians who fled Iraq to find safety in Syria during the second Gulf War in Iraq and the chaos that followed.
To put those figures in perspective the ratio should be 100 Christians out of every 1,000 refugees. Instead there are just 2 out of 2,000. Why?
The United Nations, the European Union, the U.S. Congress and even the Obama Administration have declared that the Islamic State, formerly called ISIS, is committing genocide against Christians, Yazidis and Shia Muslims wherever it controls territory. The Islamic State is, of course, Sunni Muslim,
Even though it is Sunni Muslims in Syria committing the genocide, President Obama’s Administration uses taxpayer money to bring Sunni Muslims to the United States.
During the three days after the slaughter by a Sunni Muslim in Orlando, the Obama Administration brought in another 434 Sunni Muslims and, incredibly, sent 49 of them to Florida including 10 to Orlando.
Then — the Obama Administration REFUSED to give Governor Scott of Florida the names and address of the “refugees.”
Over all, 97% of the Syrian refugees Obama has brought to America so far are Sunni Muslims, despite the fact a very large proportion of refugees from Syria are Christians who have been forced to flee their homes by the Sunni Muslim, Islamic State terrorists.
Congress authorized the massive funds to bring in these Syrian refugees when it passed the Omnibus Bill rammed through by Speaker Paul Ryan in December of last year. Have you told your congressman and Senators to stop the madness of bringing Sunni Muslims to America?
Did you mail the postcards I sent you to your congressman and Senators demanding that the funds for Syrian refugees be used for the Christian victims of genocide escaping from Syria? If the funds are not going to help the refugees who are true victims, then none of our tax dollars should be spent at all!
Post cards to Congress make a difference: Elected officials pay virtually no attention to e-mails, but they do pay attention to something a that constituent had to sign, buy a stamp for and take to the post office. I know, because I meet with many of these elected officials. Just this week I met for some time with Congressman Fleming, who agrees with our position.
After two years of hard work and nearly two million preprinted cards sent to social conservatives, Congress still supports giving guns to Sunni fighters in Syria. But with each vote, the number siding with President Obama and Senator John McCain has dropped.
We must continue to educate the Congress, but also the public, that their tax dollars are used not to help persecuted Christians, but to help those who call us infidels and would take our rights from us and force us to live under Sharia law. If you have not done so, please contact your congressman and Senators and demand funds for refugees be used for Christian victims.
The Slaughter in Orlando: In the worst cases of Islamic terror shootings in the United States, the perpetrators have not been new immigrants but rather children of Muslim immigrants. The latest second-generation terrorist attack played out in Orlando when Omar Mateen, the son of immigrants from Afghanistan, went on a jihad rampage that killed 49 people and wounded 53. This was the worst mass shooting in U.S. history, but not the deadliest jihad attack.
In another case, Syed Rizwan Farook, one of the San Bernardino, California terrorists who killed fourteen and wounded twenty-two in 2015, was the son of Pakistani immigrants. Nadir Soofi, one of two Sunni Muslims who attacked an anti-Sharia law event sponsored by Pamela Geller in Garland, Texas last year, was the son of an immigrant Pakistani. Major Nidal Hassan killed thirteen plus one unborn baby and wounded thirty during his jihad rampage at Ft. Hood in 2009. He was the son of Palestinian immigrants.
The worst jihad attack against the United States was of course 9-11. Every single one of the 9-11 hijackers entered the United States legally. Several overstayed their visas and were still able to board commercial flights. And by the way TSA has not changed that. The TSA accepts literally hundreds of types of ID’s including border crossing cards. As long as someone has a driver’s license, they can get on a domestic flight in the USA.
In 2015 a total of 527,127 people who entered the United States legally on visas, never left. Those half million people are now illegally in the United States and there is virtually no effort to find them, as was the case with the 9-11 jihad terrorists who overstayed their visas.
According to the liberal theology of those such as Barack Obama and Nancy Pelosi, making the nation “diverse” makes us safer. Really? If that diversity is made up of, for example, of Catholics from Ireland and Jews from Poland, that is probably true. It is not true when the drive for diversity brings in large numbers of people whose core religious belief is that Muslims are superior and have the right to dominate all others who do not hold their beliefs.
But President Obama sees only the good in Muslims in America. In February of this year he said, “Muslim Americans can keep reaching out and sharing their faith to help more Americans understand Islam’s tradition of peace, charity and justice. Americans of all faiths can reach out to their Muslim American neighbors — perhaps even visit the nearest mosque — to help break down stereotypes and build understanding.”
President Obama also champions same-sex marriage. The punishment for a homosexual act in Saudi Arabia is death. Homosexuality receives harsh punishment in all majority Muslim states, including public whippings and death. The attack on a gay nightclub in Orlando was not out of the ordinary. In his speech Obama went on to say that, “across the Islamic world, Muslim leaders are not only roundly and repeatedly condemning terrorism, they are also speaking out with an affirmative vision of their faith.” The Saudi King did not condemn the Orlando attack.
It is this fantasy state of mind that blamed guns for the slaughters in San Bernardino and Orlando rather than blaming the motive of the gunmen. This same “logic” drives President Obama to bring Sunni Muslims to the United States while rejecting persecuted Christians.
