GOOD FRIDAY – This is the day that Our Lord suffered the cross as a sacrifice that all who believe may have eternal life. What appeared to be defeat to His tearful followers became a victory over death as He arose the 3rd day. May God bless you on this Holy Day.
THE PRESIDENCY
MUSLIM BROTHERHOOD VISITS WHITE HOUSE – This week officials from the Egyptian Muslim Brotherhood conferred with members of the National Security Council at the White House. White House Press Secretary Jay Carney said that this was the new reality, with the Islamist group having become prominent in post-Mubarak Egypt. There is really no big news in this story, as the Obama Administration has actively worked to overthrow secular governments in the Middle East and to install Islamist regimes.
NOT THEIR FIRST TIME AT THE WHITE HOUSE – It may sound like news that the Muslim Brotherhood visited the White House, but over ten years ago men associated with the Muslim Brotherhood were headed to the White House for a “briefing” arranged by ATR’s Grover Norquist on September 11, 2001. The Bush White House employed the son of one of the founders of the Muslim Brotherhood in America, and at “iftar” dinners held in the White House by both Bush and Obama, numerous individuals associated with the Muslim Brotherhood and other radical Islamists groups have been in attendance.

CONGRESS ADJOURNED – The Congress is adjourned for Easter and Passover and will reconvene Monday. April 16thv
RELIGION AND CULTURE
GREENWOOD: YOU CAN’T TAKE GOD FROM MY SONG – A school in Massachusetts (where else?) changed the words of Lee Greenwood’s famous song “God Bless the U.S.A.” to “We love America.” Greenwood responded in a written statement: “I of course would have said you can’t change the lyrics at all or any part of the song. The most important word in the whole piece of music is the word God, which is also in the title God Bless The USA.”
COUPLE FIRED FOR BEING “TOO RELIGIOUS” – Hallmark Management Company has settled with Daniel and Sharon Dixon, after firing and evicting them from a property management position for having a piece of artwork hanging in their office that contained a Scripture reference. Liberty Counsel successfully represented the Dixons in the case of Dixon v. Hallmark Companies and will be awarded $76,250. Read more
MODERN SLAVERY – The U.N. crime-fighting office said Tuesday that 2.4 million people across the globe are victims of human trafficking at any one time, and 80 percent of them are being exploited as sexual slaves. Yuri Fedotov, the head of the U.N. Office on Drugs and Crime, told a daylong General Assembly meeting on trafficking that 17 percent are trafficked to perform forced labor, including in homes and sweat shops.
INTERNATIONAL
WHERE WILL EASTER ATTACKS OCCUR? – Catholics, Coptic Christians and most Protestant denominations celebrate Easter on April 8th this year; however, the Orthodox Church will celebrate the rising of our Lord from the tomb on April 15th. As a result, the bombings of churches by Muslims will occur over a two week period. Expect bombings this Sunday in the Philippines and Nigeria in particular. European churches, which are for the most part just museums, will probably not be bombed. On April 15th attacks are more likely in the “Arab Spring” nation of Egypt, but could also occur in Russia. For the most part the attacks will be ignored by the Western media. Please consider helping the persecuted church during Holy Week. Help today!
JAIL FOR CHRISTIAN TEEN IN EGYPT – A Reuters story by Western journalists places blame for Muslim rioters’ attacking Christians on a teenaged Christian boy because he was critical of Mohammed on his Facebook page. No Western media has any criticism for the blasphemy laws in this “Arab Spring” nation. The 17-year-old was sentenced to three years in jail, which is actually a death sentence. Any Christian who is sent to jail for “blasphemy” in a Muslim nation is attacked and killed by extremists. Egypt is becoming more repressive under the new Muslim Brotherhood dominated parliament than it was under the secular “dictator.” Read more

MORE FRENCH MUSLIM PROBLEMS – Sixteen suspected Islamic militants were arrested in France when it was learned that they planned to kidnap a Jewish magistrate and other people. The head of France’s Central Directorate for Domestic Intelligence (DCRI), Bernard Squarcini, said those arrested were French nationals involved in “war-like training, linked to violent religious indoctrination”.
