THE PRESIDENT, THE ECONOMY AND EXPENSIVE VACATIONS

HIGH UNEMPLOYMENT AND HIGH DOLLAR VACATIONS– I have come to the conclusion that President and Michelle Obama prefer to live on luxury aircraft rather than in the White House. Barack Obama has now spent more total time on Air Force One that George W. Bush did during his entire eight years in office. Of course, in Obama’s first year in office he covered a lot of miles on his apology tour of the world asking European socialists and third world dictators to forgive Americans for being hard working and prosperous.

I would much prefer to comment on Obama’s policies rather than his personal activities, but in his case those are inseparable. Our government is “officially” in debt to the tune of $14 trillion and that does not include obligations for Social Security, Medicare and Medicaid. Estimates on the gap range up to $60 trillion over the next twenty years. At a time when the nation’s leaders should be setting an example of restraint and thrift, Barack and Michelle Obama are spending sometimes $50,000 a day or more on vacations when the huge entourage they take with them is counted in. And that does not include the travel!

In particular, Michelle Obama’s wild and extravagant expenditures are at odds with the couple’s liberal class warfare rhetoric. Not only are the Obama’s rich, they love to spend the money of others as well. Her trip to Spain “with the girls” in August of 2010 has no exact cost because Mrs. Obama and her 40 friends footed some personal expenses, such as hotels and meals themselves. But the U.S. taxpayer paid for the First Lady’s 68-strong security detail, personal staff, and use of presidential jet Air Force Two. Secret Service personal expense allowance is about  $281 per day for each agent, or about $98,000 for the summer break. Use of Air Force Two, the Air Force version of a 757, cost $149,900 for the trip. This does not include time on the ground. Mrs Obama’s personal staff, of which there are an unknown number of persons, might cost considerably more per day and must also be accounted for.

In December of 2010 according to the Hawaii Reporter the tab for the couple’s winter trip cost $1.5 million. Michelle took a separate jet to Hawaii at a cost of $63,000. Her return on Air Force One cost right at $1 million. The couple spent $38,000 on a beach house rental. The Secret Service and Navy Seals spent another $16,000 for rentals. The bill for personal staff at the Moana Hotel was $134,000 plus $251,000 for police overtime. Then in February of 2011 Mrs. Obama and friends (donors) took a separate mini vacation on Air Force Two, staying at the Sebastian Hotel at Vail Mountain, where rooms can cost up to $2,400 a night for one room.

In August of this year there was the well publicized trip to Martha’s Vineyard for the couple at the Blue Heron Estate at a rental rate of $50,000 a week, not including costs of staff and security.

The Obama’s are very wealthy and I have nothing against rich people spending their money, which does creates jobs. I do have issues with the Obamas’ constant class warfare attacks on other rich people, some not even as wealthy as they are. While Obama attacks those that use small corporate jets for business trips he has no problem flying in a 747 escorted by fighter jets just to go play a couple games of golf.

GOVERNMENT CAN SPEND MONEY BETTER THAN YOU: Obama’s Secretary of Agriculture, Tom Vilsack, said in August: “I should point out, when you talk about the SNAP program or the food stamp program, you have to recognize that it’s also an economic stimulus. Every dollar of SNAP benefits generates $1.84 in the economy in terms of economic activity. If people are able to buy a little more in the grocery store, someone has to stock it, package it, shelve it, process it, ship it. All of those are jobs. It’s the most direct stimulus you can get in the economy during these tough times.”

Let’s analyze this statement more closely:  Those in control of our nation believe that if a dollar is taken from someone in the form of taxes and given to someone else, it causes $1.84 worth of economic activity that would not have otherwise happened. Stop for a minute and think about this logic. In essence the Obama Administration’s claim is that if you spend a dollar it does not create economic activity, but if government takes that dollar away from you so that you cannot spend it and gives it to someone else to spend, the dollar then causes economic activity. This is not logic, it is fantasy.

BUSTING THE BIBLE BELT – A mega mosque in Tennessee doesn’t make much sense unless the 10,000 totally illiterate Muslim Somalis who are being dumped in Tennessee as refugees by the Obama Administration are counted into the equation. Obama is granting refugee status to tens of thousands of Somali Muslims while his Administration closes the door to persecuted Christians in the Middle East. The dumping of Muslim refugees in Bible Belt areas is a planned action of the Obama Administration to subvert evangelical Christians whom he sees as his enemy.  

OBAMA’S AIRPORT SECURITY – In August a federal audit revealed that the TSA can’t guarantee that agents working in “secure” areas of airports don’t pose a risk. That’s because the agency doesn’t always verify the identity of job applicants or even their legal status against a government immigration database.

The TSA can’t account for agency employees with access to secure areas of airports, according to a Homeland Security Inspector General. The TSA in many cases does not know the nationality or status in the United States of the agents it has guarding the nation’s airports. Some are illegal aliens and some of those may come from nations with strong terror link.

THE CONGRESS ON RELIGIOUS FREEDOM AND TERROR

PETER KING FINDS NEW 9/11 LINK – Congressman Peter King (R-NY), in a letter to Attorney General Eric Holder, said investigators believe it is no coincidence that Anwar al-Awlaki had contact with three of the five hijackers who flew a plane into the Pentagon on September 11th, 2001. The House Homeland Security Committee is investigating to determine “to what extent Anwar al-Awlaki wittingly or unwittingly facilitated the plot of the 9/11 hijackers.” After the attacks, Al-Awlaki was invited to speak at a Pentagon lunch and was also invited by Muslim Congressman Keith Ellison to speak on Capitol Hill. Al-Awlaki also encouraged the attack by Nidal Hasan at Fort Hood.

Meanwhile the State Department is refusing to release information on this terrorist leader stating that it would violate his privacy. Fox News and other outlets were trying to ascertain his travel patterns as it related to trips to terror sponsoring nations while in the United States. This is the actual response of the State Department:

”The Department of State, Passport Services has reviewed your request and has given full consideration to the reasons provided. However, we have determined that your request must be denied. This denial is pursuant to subsection (b)(6) of the Freedom of Information Act. The release of this information to you would be an invasion of personal privacy of another person, without written authorization from that person.”

I wonder if Seal Team Six broke any privacy rules when they entered Usama bin Laden’s compound with knocking.

 ALLEN WEST IN ISRAEL – The Jerusalem Post carried a story and accompanying interview titled “Allen West: US congressman with his heart in the East” in August. The article is revealing in many ways, as it portrays an African-American conservative who is pro-Israel. This comes as a surprise to many in Israel because most African-American leaders in the United States are at best anti-Israel and at worst flat out anti-Semitic, for example President Obama’s former pastor, Jeremiah Wright.

Congress was in recess all of August and will not return for business until September 6^th.

 CULTURE AND RELIGION

ANOTHER MOSQUE MAN ASSOCIATED WITH FRAUD – Front Page Magazine and other media outlets reported that Allstate Insurance​ is suing Hisham Elzanaty, the Ground Zero Mosque’s top financial backer, for running a “highly developed and sophisticated kickback scheme.” He is alleged to have fraudulently set up medical facilities, despite not being a licensed professional. He then presented Allstate Insurance with inflated medical bills and engaged in illegal fee-splitting arrangements, it is claimed. He is being sued by Allstate for $5.1 million. State Farm​ and Geico separately sued Elzanaty this year for $1.9 and $1.7 million respectively, on similar allegations of fraud.

Elzanaty donated $6,000 to the Holy Land Foundation in 1999, which was shut down by the federal government in 2001 for acting as a front for Hamas. The government’s position was vindicated during the trial, and documents were introduced into evidence proving that the charity was set up by the Muslim Brotherhood​ to finance the terrorist group. ISLAMIC HATE SPEECH – On August 24^th, 2011 Nation of Islam leader Louis Farrakhan told followers that Fort Hood shooter Col. Nidal Hasan wasn’t a terrorist, but a good Muslim. (Actually I already knew the shooter was a good Muslim.) Farrakhan claims this “good Muslim” was simply driven crazy by terrorist American soldiers whom he says rape both Muslim women and Muslim men. THE LONDON RIOTS – The London riots, which have spread to other cities in the U.K., are actually Twitter driven events. Underemployed or unemployed young men are using Twitter and other social media to arrange mobs to sack stores. One reason given for the looting and violence  was  the cutoff of some of the money the U.K. has handed out for decades for unemployment and social services.

Now nearly broke and withits  bond sales nearly failing last year, the U.K. government has made huge cuts in entitlement spending. Similar mob violence and looting has occurred in Greece. Also, the demonstrations and riots that led to the fall of the Egyptian government this year had far less to do with democracy than with the rise of food and fuel costs when that government lowered subsidies. The problem is simply this: governments around the world can no longer afford to borrow money to supply cradle to grave services to residents.

Prime Minister David Cameron pointed his finger at “moral collapse” in the U.K.  He blamed: “Irresponsibility. Selfishness. Behaving as if your choices have no consequences. Children without fathers. Schools without discipline. Reward without effort. Crime without punishment. Rights without responsibilities.”  For the last 50 years, the British welfare state has rewarded single motherhood over married parenting and now about half of all births in the U.K. are out-of-wedlock. There is no moral teaching in the schools and only 15 percent of British people attend church once a month, while 95% of Muslims attend prayers weekly.

ISRAEL UNDER ATTACK – Eight Israelis were killed in coordinated attacks that targeted civilians traveling along a highway near the Egyptian border on in August. This was the worst attack inside of Israel in several years. Of the 20 or so Muslim terrorists who attacked, just seven were killed and the rest escaped. The original targets were, of course, civilian buses. Since the attack more than 200 missiles have also been fired into Israel from the Gaza Strip, killing two more Israelis.

RAMADAN BODY COUNT – This issue of the Chairman’s Report will be at press before the final Ramadan Body count is in. As of the last day of Ramadan there had been 180 Islamic terror attacks with more than 785 killed, that we know of. This includes the suicide bombing of the United Nations headquarters in Nigeria by the Boko Haram, the African equivalent of al-Quada. The Islamic attacks are not isolated to the Middle East and Africa, although several occurred in Nigeria and Egypt. Murderous attacks also occurred in China, the Philippines, Thailand, India, Dagestan, and Ingushetia.

In the West, a Canadian anti-Sharia blogger was dragged into the woods and beaten unconscious. In Norway an ex-Muslim convert to Christianity was attacked with boiling water and acid by Muslims at an ‘asylum reception centre’ in Norway on August 26^th. “Ali” (not his real name), an asylum seeker in an immigration center in Jaeren, Norway, was attacked because he would not comply with Ramadan fasting rules.
